Homemade Oyster Stew
|Oysters||1 Pint (Fresh, Canned Or Quick Frozen)|
|Scalded milk||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Worcestershire sauce||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Chopped parsley||1 Tablespoon|
|Oyster crackers/Soda crackers||5|
1. Look the oysters over carefully to see there are no bits of shell remaining. Drain off their liquor and add it to the hot milk.
2. Heat the oysters in the butter or margarine with the Worcestershire sauce until their edges curl. Add to the hot milk.
3. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and about 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Taste; add more seasonings if desired. A dash of paprika on top of the stew gives appetizing color contrast.
