Apple Beef Stew With Vegetables
|Beef chuck||3 Pound|
|All purpose flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Shortening/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Tomato sauce||8 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Chili powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Canned applesauce||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Diced celery||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|White potatoes||6 Medium, peeled and halved (Raw)|
Toss beef cubes a few at a time in seasoned flour.
Brown on all sides in hot shortening in large kettle or Dutch oven.
Add next 5 ingredients.
Bring to boil, cover and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Add vegetables and simmer 1 hour longer, or until tender.
