Hearty Winter Stew

Ingredients
  Lamb cubes 1 1⁄2 Pound, well trimmed
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon
  Condensed cream of chicken soup 10 3⁄4 Ounce (1 Can)
  Canned tomatoes 16 Ounce, chopped and drained (1 Can)
  Rosemary leaves 1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed
  Garlic clove 1 Small, minced
  Mint jelly 1 Tablespoon
  Cubed rutabagas 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Carrots 6 Medium, cut into 2 inch pieces
  Whole white onions 8 Small
Directions

In large heavy pan, brown lamb in shortening; pour off fat.
Add soup, 1 can tomatoes, seasonings, and jelly.
Cover; cook over low heat 30 minutes.
Add rutabagas, carrots, and onions.
Cover; cook 1 hour more or until meat and vegetables are tender.
1 Stir occasionally.
Thicken sauce if desired.
