Philly Cheese Steak or Philadelphia Cheese steak is a sandwich which belongs to the American cuisine and is very popular in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania. It is made from thinly sliced pieces of steak and melted cheese rolled in a log. According to an exhibition catalog published by the Library Company of Philadelphia and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, Philly Cheese Steak is believed to have originated in the early 20th century “by combining frizzled beef, onions, and cheese in a small loaf of bread,".
