Old-Fashioned Steak

  Round steak 2 Pound
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Shortening/Oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Onion 1 Large
  Potatoes 5 Medium
  Cream of mushroom soup 1 Can (10 oz)
  Water 10 Ounce

Cut steak in 6 to 8 pieces; add salt and pepper.
Dredge meat in flour; brown on both sides in oil in 10-inch skillet.
Remove steak; saute onion.
Place potatoes over onions; drain off excess fat.
Brown potatoes and onions for 5 to 10 minutes, turning frequently.
Place meat on top of potatoes; add soup and water.
Cover and cook over medium heat for 35 minutes.
