Savory Round Steak
|Bottom round||2 Pound|
|Prepared mustard||1 Tablespoon|
|Dark caramel||1 Tablespoon|
|Boiling water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Cut meat into strips 3 in. long and 1 in. wide and sprinkle lightly with some flour.
Meanwhile melt fat in a frying pan, add meat and brown it on all sides.
Remove meat, and add to fat, the flour, salt, pepper, prepared mustard, vinegar, dark caramel and boiling water.
Stir until smooth and slightly thickened.
Add meat, cover closely, reduce heat and simmer until tender or about 1 hr.
