Mushroom Topped Flank Steak
|Flank steak/Round steak||1 1⁄2 Pound, cut 1/2-inch thick|
|Onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Sliced mushrooms/1/2 cup 4-oz sliced canned mushrooms||8 Ounce|
|Chopped parsley/1 tablespoon parsley flakes||2 Tablespoon|
|Poultry seasoning/Ground thyme||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Water/1/3 cup red wine and 2/3 cup water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cut steak into 6 pieces or leave whole.
Brown in butter in hot fry pan.
After browned on one side, turn; top with onions and mushrooms.
Sprinkle with parsley, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning.
Pour water over all.
Lower heat; cover and simmer for I 1/2 to 2 hours until tender.
If desired, garnish with additional parsley before serving.
