Oven Barbecued Steaks
|Round steak||8 Pound, cut 3/4 inch thick|
|Cooking oil||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Onion||1 Large, sliced|
|Catsup||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Cider vinegar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Prepared mustard||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Worcestershire sauce||2 Tablespoon|
Trim off fat around edge of meat and cut steak into 25 serving pieces.
Brown on both sides in hot oil in skillet.
Put in shallow baking pans.
Brown onion lightly in drippings remaining in skillet.
Add remaining ingredients, bring to boil, and simmer for 5 minutes.
Pour over meat, cover with foil if baking pans have no lids, and bake in preheated slow oven (325 F.) for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Skim off any accumulated fat.
