Saucy Oven-Barbecued Steak
|Boneless round steak||2 Pound|
|Vegetable oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Catsup||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Cider vinegar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Tablespoon|
|Prepared mustard||1 Tablespoon|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Tablespoon|
Trim excess fat from, round steak, and cut steak into serving-size pieces.
Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large heavy skillet; add steak, and brown evenly on both sides.
Transfer steak to a 2-quart shallow baking dish.
Combine remaining ingredients, stirring well; pour over steak.
Cover and bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
