Whole Glazed Squash
|Butternut squash||4 Pound (1 squash)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Bake squash in preheated moderate oven (350Â°F.) for 1 hour, or until squash is tender.
Peel rind and leave squash whole.
Mix brown sugar, butter, and water.
Cook slowly for 3 to 4 minutes.
Spoon thick syrup over all surfaces of the squash.
Bake for 15 minutes longer, or until squash is glazed.
Cut into serving pieces and serve with Canadian bacon or ham.
