Country Club Squash

Ingredients
  Yellow squash 2 Pound, sliced
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Commercial sour cream 8 Ounce (1 Carton)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried whole basil 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Soft breadcrumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Shredded medium cheddar cheese 2 Ounce (1/2 Cup)
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), melted
  Paprika 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Bacon slices 8 , cooked and crumbled
Directions

Cook squash and onion in 1/2 cup boiling water until tender; drain and mash.
Combine squash, sour cream, salt, pepper, and basil; pour into a greased 2 quart casserole.
Combine breadcrumbs, cheese, butter, and paprika; sprinkle over squash mixture.
Top with bacon.
Bake at 300° for 20 minutes.
