Sprout

Sprout, also referred to as edible Sprouts, are the seeds of various plants which are eaten, either raw or by cooking. Sprout falls under the category of health food as they are highly nutritious and rich in fiber. Sprouts are mostly used in Salad preparations across the globe. Sprouts are prepared by soaking the seeds in water until germination. Examples of edible sprout seeds include Soybean, pea, alfalfa, lettuce, buckwheat and garden cress. Some examples of food preparation using sprouts as the basic ingredients are Bean Sprout Stir Fry, Brussel Sprout Salad, Sprout Sandwich and Sprout Curry.
