Golden Nugget Brussels Sprouts
|Brussels sprouts||1 Pound|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange peel||1 Teaspoon, grated|
|Orange juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Navel oranges||2 , peeled, cut into bite-sized pieces|
1. Wash brussels sprouts and peel off outer leaves, if needed.
2. Cook brussels sprouts.
3. While brussels sprouts are cooking, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a small saucepan. Stir in flour and salt. Stir in milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil and is thickened.
4. Remove from heat and blend in egg yolk and remaining butter. Stir in grated orange peel, orange juice, and lemon juice.
5. Drain brussels sprouts and combine with drained orange pieces. Add hot sauce and toss lightly.
