Hot Clam And Cheese Spread

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (1/2 Stick)
  Onion 1 Small, finely chopped
  Green pepper/Red pepper 1⁄2 Small, finely chopped
  Canned minced clams 8 1⁄2 Ounce, drained (1 Can)
  Pasteurized process american cheese 1 Pound, diced
  Ketchup 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon
  Dry sherry 1 Tablespoon
  Ground red pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Crackers/Melba toast rounds 12
Directions

MAKING
1. Take a 1 ½ -quart glass casserole and add pepper, onion and butter into it. Microwave it for about 3-4 minutes at high. Keep the casserole uncovered throughout the cooking time.
2. Fold in drained minced clams and American cheese, lemon juice, dry sherry, ketchup and ground red pepper to it. Blend the mixture well.
3. Microwave the mixture for about 4-5 minutes at high until the cheese softens and stir the mixture twice.

SERVING
4. Serve it after spreading on Melba toast rounds or crackers.
