Anise Cookie Sticks
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Cream cheese||3 Ounce|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||3 1⁄4 Cup (52 tbs)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Anise seed||2 Teaspoon|
Cream butter and cream cheese together.
Add sugar gradually, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Beat in eggs one at a time; continue beating until light and fluffy.
Add a mixture of the remaining ingredients; mix well.
Divide dough in half, place on a lightly greased cookie sheet, and form into 2 rolls the length of baking sheet and 1 1/2 inches wide.
Bake at 350Â°F 30 to 35 minutes, or until light brown.
Remove from oven and cut rolls crosswise into slices about 3/4 inch thick.
Place on cookie sheets cut side down.
Return to oven.
Bake 10 minutes, or until toasted and crisp.
