|French bread slice||6 , crusts removed|
|Sweet butter||2 Tablespoon, melted|
|Mushrooms||16 Medium, thinly sliced (1 1/2 cups / 375 ml)|
|Grated cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Grated colby cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Bacon slices||6 , cooked and crumbed|
|Green onions||4 Small, chopped|
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Dijon mustard||2 Teaspoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Cayenne pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
1. Cut bread into cubes to measure 2 cups (500 ml). In bottom of 8-inch (20-cm) square baking dish, arrange bread cubes. Drizzle butter over cubes.
2. Scatter mushroom slices, cheeses, bacon and green onions over bread cubes.
3. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, mustard, salt, pepper, paprika and cayenne until frothy. Pour over mixture in pan, cover and refrigerate overnight.
4. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Bake for 1 hour, until just firm and lightly browned.
