A perfect drink to serve round the bonfire on Guy Fawkes night or after a Boxing Day walk in the country. Heat 600 ml (1 pint) of the beer with the eggs and sugar, but do not boil. Remove from the heat and add the remaining beer, a generous amount of nutmeg and brandy to taste. Serve in heatproof glasses.
You will need a large saucepan or flameproof casserole to make this punch. Serve it with a ladle.
