Fried Cinnamon Balls
|Butter/Margarine||30 Gram, softened (6 Tablespoon)|
|Sugar||80 Gram (1/4 Cup Plus 2 Tablespoons)|
|Grated lemon peel||1⁄2 Tablespoon (Peel Of 1/2 Lemon)|
|All purpose flour||400 Gram (2 2/3 Cup)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Oil||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
|Sugar||100 Gram (1/2 Cup)|
|Ground cinnamon||2 Teaspoon|
In a large bowl, cream butter or margarine and 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons (80 g) sugar until pale and fluffy.
Add lemon peel and salt.
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Sift flour with baking powder; fold into mixture with a metal spoon to make a dough.
Heat oil for frying to 360°F (180°C) in a deep-frying pan.
Using 2 floured teaspoons, form dough into small balls.
Add about 8 balls at a time to hot oil.
Fry 5 to 6 minutes or until golden, turning halfway through cooking with a slotted spoon.
Lift out cooked balls with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels, Mix 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over balls while still warm.
