|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unbleached all purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs), unbleached|
|Freshly grated nutmeg||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Egg white||1 , beaten|
Preheat oven to 275°F.
Grease 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan.
Cream butter with sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy.
Add egg yolk and beat well.
Stir in flour and nutmeg, blending thoroughly.
Turn into prepared pan, spreading evenly with fingertips.
Brush top with beaten egg white.
Bake until lightly browned, about 50 minutes.
Cut into bars while still warm.
