Ginger Ball Cookies
|Shortening||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , well beaten|
|Regular all purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Granulated sugar||1 Tablespoon|
Cream shortening with sugar in a large mixing bowl.
Mix in egg and molasses.
Sift and measure flour; sift again with the soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
Stir the dry ingredients into the mixture in the bowl.
Shape dough into one-inch balls and roll each one in granulated sugar.
Place at least 4 inches apart on a greased cooky sheet, and bake in a 375° oven for about 12 minutes.
Remove from pan to cool.
