Spanish Juice

Spanish juice is a drink made from fruits, particularly grown in the Spain, which is known for its large fruit plantations and the penchant for flavor in its cuisine. These juices too are not just plain juices but mixed with several ingredients to make them more appealing. Several of these juices are even served as mocktails in bars across the country.


Pineapple Juice or the Pina Juice- A rampant growing crop in Spain, pineapple is a popular fruit amongst Spaniards. Its juice is prepared in huge quantities on pineapple farms. Once the fruit has matured and is ripe, it is picked up for juicing. The produce is collected and its outer hard crust is properly shaved off. The flesh so procured is further crushed in order to get the pure juice. Some selective and special herbs are added to this juice along with spices which transform the juice altogether. This juice may be teamed with vodka or mixed with other juices in order to add a zing of pineapple to the drink.

Nutrition Value: In juice collected from 200g of the fruit, there are 12.78g of carbohydrates. The energy content is as high as 439KJ. It is relatively high in sugar, which values to 23.89g with a negligible fat content of 0.37g. This is definitely not a great source of protein but the juice is rich in Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin and Folate. It is also rich in vitamins and minerals.

Orange Juice or Zumos Juice- Several groups of companies today have their own farms which cultivate the oranges in order to provide their customers with the natural products. A produce is processed and the juice extracted while the peel is used to add fragrance of the juice. The Spanish explorers planted orange trees along the trade routes to prevent scurvy. A healthful drink, the Zumos is preferred by people across the world.

Nutrition Value- The juice of Zumos is rich in Citrus or Vitamin C. Juice obtained from 100g of the fruit will contain 11.56g of carbohydrates and energy amounting to 192KJ. It has a minimal fat content ranging around 0.19g and an equally low protein component of 0.67g. The juice is said to be rich in magnesium, calcium, potassium and iron.
