|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Lukewarm water||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Vegetable oil/Shortening||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
Place flour, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl.
Cut in shortening.
Sprinkle in the water, mixing with a fork until all the flour is moistened.
The dough should almost clean the side of the bowl.
Form the dough into a ball, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Put 1-2" of oil in a pan.
Heat to 400°.
Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface.
Cut it into round.
Fry each rectangle until puffed and golden, turning once, about 2 minutes.
Lightly press them down with fork so they will bubble and puff up.
Drain on paper towels.
Serve at once and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon or honey.
