Spanish String Beans
|Onions||2 Medium, sliced|
|Canned tomatoes||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs) (1 can, No. 2)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Diced green pepper||1 , seeded|
|Granulated sugar||2 Teaspoon|
|Melted butter/Margarine /fat /salad oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Cooked string beans||2 Pound, cut in 1" pieces|
Combine the onions, tomatoes, bay leaf, salt, green pepper, cloves, and sugar.
Simmer for 15 min.; remove bay leaf and cloves.
Blend the butter and flour, and add to the tomato mixture.
Cook until smooth and thickened, while stirring.
Add the beans and heat well.
