Meat and Mushroom Sauce for Spaghetti
|Olive oil/Salad oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Garlic||2 Clove (10 gm), sliced|
|Fresh mushrooms||1⁄4 Pound, sliced|
|Ground pork||1⁄2 Pound|
|Ground veal||1⁄2 Pound|
|Canned italian tomatoes||2 Pound, undrained (1 can)|
|Tomato paste||3 Ounce (1/2 can, 6 ounce size)|
|Ground pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
1 In a large heavy skillet or saucepan, heat oil.
2 Saute garlic just until golden.
3 Using a slotted spoon remove the garlic and discard.
4 To the remaining oil, add mushrooms, pork and veal.
5 Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
6 Add in the tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt and pepper.
7 Bring to a boil.
8 Lower the heat and cover.
9 Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour.
10 Serve, poured over spaghetti.
