Meat Sauce For Spaghetti

Ingredients
  Onions 2 , chopped
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), minced
  Cooking oil 2 Tablespoon
  Ground beef 1⁄2 Pound
  Ground pork 1⁄2 Pound
  Canned tomatoes 38 Ounce (4 2/3 Cups, Two 1 Pound, 3 Ounce Cans)
  Tomato puree 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Chopped parsley 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Green pepper 1 , chopped
  Basil leaves 2 (Fresh Or Dried)
  Grated lemon rind 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Crumbled dried thyme 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 3 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Crushed red pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

In large saucepan saute onions and garlic in hot oil until golden.
Add beef and pork and cook until lightly browned but still red inside, stirring to break up meat.
Add tomatoes and puree; bring to boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Makes enough sauce for 1 pound spaghetti, cooked, or for 8 servings.
