South American Onion Soup

Ingredients
  Onions 6 , thinly sliced
  Butter/Margarine 3 Tablespoon
  Bouillon/3 cans (10 1/2 ounces each) condensed consomme with 3 cans water 2 Quart
  Almonds 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), blanched
  Bread 2 , toasted
  Gruyere cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs), grated
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Saute onions in butter slowly until soft.
Add bouillon and nuts and simmer for 30 minutes.
Season and serve with toast rounds sprinkled with cheese.
