Sweet Soup

Sweet Soup as the name suggests is obviously sweet in nature and typically sweet soup recipes are an integral part to South East Asian cuisine. In Cantonese cuisine sweet soup is often referred to as tong sui, a term used for sweet and warm soup, which is usually served at the end of a meal. It is an authentic Cantonese specialty and is hardly ever found in other regional cuisines of China. Sweet soup recipes can be of many kinds depending on the local ingredients available and specific tastes and preferences. Besides, being a specialty in Cantonese cuisine, sweet soups are also enjoyed in the Scandinavian countries. The Norwegian and Swedish almost use the same ingredients to make their sweet soup with slight alterations that usually varies from one region to the other. In contrast to the Cantonese recipe where soup is served warm, here it can be the other way round too, as sweet soup can even be served cold during the summer months.
