Sausage Soup, also known as Italian sausage soup is a hearty winter
soup, prepared with sausage, celery, butter, beans, tomatoes, cheese
and beef broth. Variations to the sausage soup can be tried by adding red wine, tortellini pasta, potatoes, mushroom soup,etc. The very basic preparation of the sausage soup includes adding the sauteed sausage, garlic and basil to the rest of the ingredients and simmer for a few minutes. Sausage soup is sprinkled with parmesan cheese and served with Italian bread, garlic bread or panini bread.
