This homemade pea soup recipe is prepared with a handful of ingredients but is quite tasty and savory. Cooked in ham stock with onions and split green peas and rice, this pea soup is frugal but filling and delicious when seasoned to taste and served hot.
|Ham stock||3 Pint|
|Onion||1 , chopped|
|Split green peas||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Rice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Use water from boiled ham or ham shank.
Add chopped onion and bring to full rolling boil.
Pour peas and rice into boiling stock and continue cooking for an hour then blend well.
Add salt to taste.
