Korean Dried Pollack Soup

Dried Pollack soup is a medley of vegetables, seafood and tofu. The amazing blend of flavours makes the soup very appetizing. Try out this Dried Pollack soup with a little kimchi and rice and it would be a nice meal.
Ingredients
  Perilla oil 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Salted dried and flaked korean cod 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Firm tofu 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Soy bean sprout 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Water 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Konbu 1
  Green onion 1
  Salt To Taste
  Green chili pepper 1
Directions

1) In a sauce pan fry the cod flake in heated oil for a few minutes, add soy sauce and saute for a further few minute.
2) Add the water, konbu and bean sprouts, boil for about 10 minutes.
3) Remove the konbu and add tofu. Boil for about five minutes.
4) Add the Korean green pepper and green onion.
5) Simmer for a minute to soften and add salt and pepper to taste.

I could try this soup with some adjustments... Though what is Konbu? I have never heard of it before..
