Onion-Cheddar Soup

Ingredients
  Onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  All purpose flour 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1 Dash
  Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  American cheese 4 Ounce, shredded
Directions

Cook onion in butter till tender but not brown.
Blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
Add milk all at once.
Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Add cheese; stir till melted.
Garnish with paprika and snipped chives.
