Slow Cooking Beef Barley Soup

It is such a simple recipe and the soup is so amazing that I wanted my YouTube subscribers to get the recipe too! Here is a quick video showing how to make this hearty soup in the crock pot - perfect for those chilly winter days to come!
Ingredients
  Lean beef stew 1 Pound, cut in 0.5 -inch cubes
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Celery ribs 2 , chopped
  Carrots 2 Medium, diced
  Barley 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Bay leaf 1
  Beef broth 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

In crock-pot, combine stew beef with onion, celery, carrots, barley, bay leaf, and beef broth. Cook beef and barley soup on LOW in crock-pot for 6 to 8 hours. Taste and add salt and pepper, to taste.

I make a barley soup that is my husban's favourite-Iuse boneless lmb (leg), arsnips, and garlic and pretty much e same as you above in your recipe. Barley is so healthy! cook the barley in broth and add to the cooked soup as it retains t texture a integrity much better than tossing it in the crockpot or sautee pan.
