Homemade Beef Vegetable Soup

A very easy soup to make, so on those cold days take advantage of this recipe...because it's good.
Ingredients
  Stewing meat 2 Pound
  Onion 1
  Celery ribs 3
  Mixed vegetables 1 Pound
  Diced tomatoes 1 Can (10 oz)
  Beef base 2 Tablespoon
  Water 1 Quart
  Lawry's seasoning salt 1 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Onion powder 1 Tablespoon
  Garlic powder 1 Tablespoon
  Dried thyme 1 Pinch
  Potatoes 1 Can (10 oz), peeled
  Tomato paste 1 Can (10 oz)
Directions

Wash beef, add water and the seasonings, and let simmer for about 30 minutes on medium heat.
Add water as needed.
Add remaining ingredients except for potatoes and tomato paste.
Continue to cook until beef is tender.
Add tomato paste to thicken, optional.
