Split Pea Vegetable Soup

Ingredients
  Dried split peas 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Water 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Tomatoes 2 Cup (32 tbs), chopped
  Celery stalks 2 , chopped
  Carrots 2 , sliced
  Scallions 6 , chopped
  Mushrooms 6 , chopped
  Tamari 1 Tablespoon
  Cumin powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

MAKING
1. In a large kettle, add the split peas, water, tomatoes pureed in a blender and all the other vegetables and seasonings and allow to boil
2. When it comes to a boil, turn the heat down and simmer for almost an hour till the split peas turn tender

SERVING
3. Serve hot
