Oven Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
  Onions 2 , chopped
  Celery stalks 2 , chopped
  Bay leaf 1
  Dried split peas 250 Milliliter (1 Cup)
  Basil 1 Teaspoon
  Thyme 1 Teaspoon
  Kelp powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Celery seed 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried hot red pepper flakes 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Carrot 1 , sliced
  Parsley 125 Milliliter, minced (1/2 Cup)
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Tomatoes 2 Large, chopped
  Water 750 Milliliter (3 Cups)
Directions

GETTING READY
1) Preheat oven hot to 350°F. (175°C.)

MAKING
2) In a two-quart (2 I) casserole dish put ingredients in the order given.
3) Mix and cover.
4) Bake in oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
5) Stir once after 1 hour during baking.
6) Take out of oven, add two cups (500 ml) of soup in a blender.
7) Process on medium speed until smooth.
8) Add the mixture to the rest of the soup.

SERVING
9) Serve hot.
