Calico Ham And Bean Soup
|Dry bean mix||1 Pound, rinsed and drained, with stones removed|
|Water||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Ham||2 Cup (32 tbs), cubed|
|Onions||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Carrots||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Basil||1 Teaspoon, dried|
|Oregano||1 Teaspoon, dried|
|Liquid smoke||1 Teaspoon|
1. In large saucepan combine beans and 6 cups water bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
2. Discarding cooking water drain and rinse beans.
3. In slow cooker combine all ingredients and cook with cover on Low 8-10 hours or High 4-5 hours.
4. Before serving discard bay leaves.
