Northern Bean Soup
|Dry northern beans||1 Pound|
|Onions||2 Medium, chopped|
|Green pepper||1 , half chopped|
|Chopped celery||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Canned diced tomatoes||16 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Carrots||4 , peeled and chopped|
|Canned green chili peppers||4 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Garlic powder||1 Teaspoon|
1. To prepare beans, wash them, cover with water and soak overnight.
2. Then drain and pour into slow cooker.
3. Dicing ham into 1-inch pieces add to beans.
4. Stir in remaining ingredients and cook with cover on High for 2 hours and then on Low 10-12 hours such that beans are tender.
5. Serve as desired.
