Split Pea Soup
|Split peas||1 Pound (1 Package)|
|Ham bone/2 ham hocks||1 (With Some Meat Left On)|
|Carrot||1 , peeled, diced|
|Onion||1 , diced|
|Potato||1 Small, peeled, diced|
|Smoked sausage||1 Small, sliced|
|Stalk celery||1 , diced|
|Water||8 Cup (128 tbs)|
1) In a slow cooker, add the peas, ham bone or hocks, carrot, onion, potato, sausage, celery, water, salt and pepper.
2) Cook covered on LOW for 8-10 hrs; remove the ham bone from the cooker, chop the meat and discard the bones; return the meat to the soup.
3 ) Serve immediately in nice soup bowls.
