Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
  Cabbage head 1
  Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Margarine 4 Tablespoon
  Beef stock 3 Quart
  Peppercorns 10
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Wash cabbage and turn upside down in cold salted water.
Let remain 30 minutes.
Drain and rinse off salt.
Cut cabbage into small sections and brown in margarine.
When nicely browned add sugar.
Add stock and peppercorns.
Simmer covered several hours until cabbage is tender.
Salt lightly before serving.
