Yellow Split Pea N Ham Soup

Ingredients
  Yellow split peas 3 Ounce (Uncooked)
  Margarine 1 Teaspoon
  Chopped carrot 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Chopped celery 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Chopped boiled ham 2 Ounce
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Instant chicken broth and seasoning mix 1 1⁄2 Ounce (1 1/2 Packets)
  Bay leaf 1 Small, studded with 1 whole clove
  Whole cloves 1 (Studded With Bay Leaf)
  Ground cinnamon 1 Dash
  White pepper 1 Dash
Directions

Sort and rinse peas; set aside.
In 2-quart saucepan heat margarine until bubbly and hot; add carrot, onion, celery, and ham and cook, stirring constantly, until onion is translucent.
Stir in split peas and remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer until peas and vegetables are soft, about 45 minutes.
Let soup cool slightly; remove and discard bay leaf and clove.
Transfer soup to work bowl of food processor and process until pureed; return to saucepan and cook until heated.
