Tomato Hamburger and Rice Soup
|Ground beef||1⁄2 Pound|
|Tomato juice||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Quick-cooking rice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Onion powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
Crumble ground beef into 2-qt casserole.
Microwave at High 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink, stirring after half the cooking time.
Stir in flour.
Mix in tomato juice, rice, sugar, seasonings and bay leaf.
Microwave at High 5 to 6 minutes, or until rice is tender, stirring twice during cooking.
Slowly blend in milk.
Microwave uncovered at High 3 to 5 minutes, or until hot, stirring once during cooking.
