Microwaved Sausage Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
  Ham bone 1
  Hot water 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  Diagonally sliced carrot 1 Cup (16 tbs) (1/2 Inch Slices)
  Diagonally sliced celery 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (1/2 Inch Slices)
  Chopped onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Bay leaf 1
  Dried basil leaves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Coarsely chopped cabbage 8 Cup (128 tbs)
  Chorizo sausage 1⁄2 Pound (Cut Into 1 Inch Slices)
Directions

In 5-qt casserole combine ham bone, water, carrot, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaf, basil and pepper; cover.
Microwave at High 45 minutes, turning ham bone over after every 15 minutes.
Remove ham bone.
Stir in cabbage and sausage; cover.
Microwave at High 5 to 12 minutes, or until cabbage is tender-crisp, stirring 2 or 3 times.
Cut ham from bone; trim fat.
Discard fat and bone.
Cut ham into small pieces and return to soup.
Spoon into two freezer containers.
Label and freeze no longer than 2 months.
To serve, remove from one container and place in 2-qt casserole; cover.
Microwave at 70% (Medium-High) 17 to 25 minutes, or until heated, breaking apart and stirring 2 or 3 times.
