Tomato And Smoked Herring Soup

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1 Ounce (30 Gram)
  Tomatoes 1 1⁄2 Pound, peeled and chopped (750 Gram)
  Smoked herring fillet 2 , chopped
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), crushed
  All purpose flour 2 Tablespoon
  Milk 16 Fluid Ounce (500 Milliliter)
  Water 10 Fluid Ounce (315 Milliliter)
  Seasoning To Taste
  Cream 4 Fluid Ounce (125 Milliliter)
  Sherry/Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Melt butter in a saucepan.
Stir in tomatoes, fish and garlic.
Blend in flour.
Cook, stirring, 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
Gradually blend in milk and water.
Return to heat.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens.
Stir in seasonings.
Reduce heat.
Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
Process in a food processor or blender until mixture is smooth — this may need to be done in several batches.
Return mixture to saucepan.
Blend in cream and sherry.
Reheat gently.
Do not boil.
