Hearty Bean Soup
|Cooked ham||1 Cup (16 tbs), cut into thin strips|
|Onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Cooking oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Canned tomatoes||16 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Boston style pork and beans in molasses sauce||14 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Dried thyme||1⁄8 Teaspoon, crushed|
In saucepan cook the ham, chopped onion, and garlic in hot oil till onion is tender.
Place the undrained tomatoes and beans in blender container.
Cover; blend till smooth.
Add to the ham mixture.
Stir in salt, bay leaf, and thyme; heat to boiling.
Cook, covered, over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the bay leaf.
