Wild Rice Soup
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Onion||1 Large, chopped|
|Celery stalks||2 , thinly sliced|
|Carrots||2 Large, chopped|
|Red peppers||1 Medium, seeded chopped|
|Savory seasonings cook blend||1 Teaspoon|
|Uncooked wild rice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chicken broth||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Milk||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
Melt butter in large saucepan over medium high heat.
Add onion, celery, carrots, red pepper and Cook Blend.
Cover; saute until onion is transparent.
Reduce heat to low.
Add rice and broth; stir until well mixed.
Cover; simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until rice pops open.
Gradually add milk; stir.
Cover; simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through.
Ladle into bowls to serve.
