Delta Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
  Chicken broth 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Water 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Shredded carrots 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Finely chopped celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Potato 1 Medium, peeled and diced
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped peeled fresh tomatoes 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon (Or To Taste)
  Bay leaf 1
  Black peppercorns 4
  Shredded cabbage 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Lemon juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Granulated sugar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

In a large soup kettle, combine broth, water, carrots, celery, potato, onion, tomatoes, salt, bay leaf and peppercorns.
Simmer, covered, for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Add cabbage; simmer 10 minutes.
Stir in lemon juice and sugar; cook about 1 minute, or until heated through.
