Easy Microwaved Split Pea Soup
|Hot water||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Green peas||1 Cup (16 tbs), split|
|Onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Carrots||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), thinly sliced|
|Celery||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), thinly sliced|
|Parsley flakes||1 Tablespoon|
|Marjoram leaves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Thyme leaves||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
In 3-qt casserole combine all ingredients.
Microwave at High 8 to 10 minutes, or until boiling.
Reduce power to 50% (Medium).
Microwave, covered, 20 to 30 minutes, or until peas are very soft.
Remove 3/4 to 1 cup peas.
Mash thoroughly and stir into soup.
Increase power to High.
Microwave, uncovered, 10 to 15 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
