Split Pea Soup With Pork Sausage
|Water||1 1⁄2 Quart|
|Dried marjoram leaves||1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Dried green split peas||8 Ounce|
|Bulk pork sausage||1⁄2 Pound|
|Chopped celery||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Potatoes||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), peeled, diced|
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
In large skillet combine water, salt, pepper, and marjoram; bring to boiling. (Electric skillet 250°.)
Stir in peas.
Cover and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Shape sausage into 24 balls.
Drop into soup; add celery, potatoes, and onion.
Cook till vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes more.
