Ham Bone Soup

Ingredients
  Trimmed ham bone 1 (Or More)
  Water 6 Quart
  Canned tomatoes 6 Ounce (1 Medium Can)
  Dried parsley 1 Teaspoon
  Celery sprig 2
  Peppercorns 3
  Barley 2 Tablespoon
  Carrots 3 , cut up
  Cabbage head 1⁄2 Small, cut up
  Salt To Taste
  Diced potatoes 2 Large
Directions

Place ham bone in two-gallon pot, add water, tomatoes, parsley, celery, peppercorns, barley, carrots and salt to taste.
Boil for 2 hours, add cabbage and potatoes and cook for another half-hour.
More carrots can be used, also more cabbage and a little catsup to improve the flavor.
The ham bone does not need to be trimmed too much, as parts of ham add to the flavor of the soup.
