Mung Bean Soup

This Filipino recipe is just a very ordinary food in the Philippines.And I have also shared a little secret that can make the taste of this Pinoy recipe even better (although not very healthy) which is the addition of the fried pork skin or what we call chicharon.
  Mung beans 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cooking oil 3 Tablespoon
  Garlic 1 Tablespoon
  Chopped onion 1 Medium
  Cubed pork 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Shrimp 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Pork broth cube/Beef broth cube 1
  Fish sauce/To taste salt To Taste
  Pork skin 500 Gram (Chicharon)
  Water 1 Liter

Bring water to a boil.
Put the washed mung beans in the pot of boiling water. Let it cook for 35 minutes on medium heat, or until it’s soft.
Heat some cooking oil in a pan.
Saute some garlic, onion and tomato.
Mix in the cubed pork and let it cook for a couple of minutes.
Next, put the shrimp and let it cook for a few minutes.
Add the broth cube and let it dissolve.
Pour the mixture of sauteed pork and shrimp into the pot of mung beans.
Mix it well.
Season with fish sauce or salt according to your taste.
When the taste is right, you can put the chicharon on top of it and put the lid back on. At the same time, turn off the heat.
Serve with steamed rice.
